Two points stand out. First, you show how the old fight between secularism and religion has lost its grip. It belongs to a past age, and clinging to it distracts from the real issues before us. Second, you insist that the real future is not “secular vs. religious,” but good religion against bad—traditions retrieved with discernment, shorn of both dogmatism and thin materialism.

That is the hard question, and your provocation is pressing.

Welcome, William. Glad you found this site. That post is a pretty old one dating originally back almost twenty years.

One could argue, of course, that it's always been good vs bad religion, and that secularism is itself bad religion. The smile without the cat, so to say.

Hope you can find time to dig into the more recent stuff.
